Default choking gas with lots of candies

After going to nick so many times I now have a lot of candies in my pack. Not wanting to sell them and wanting to use them for my sweet tooth title i saved them up. so i have 1-2 stacks of reds, a few blues and greens and being cheaper than using a conset everywhere, i decided to mess around.

So when my increase attack, recharge, and casting time for all of my skills i wanted to see what the old practice stance and choking build could do.

needling shot
screaming shot
savage shot
poison tip signet
choking gas
practice stance
rez

Code:
OggkchYcGKeUr0tmqhsxlYwhvBGH
So i went with my guild to mess around and used the build in heavy spell caster dungeons and area, bloodstone cave, marga coast, frostmaw. and it worked out pretty well.

i would go in, and eat one of my many stacks of colored candies and spam needling shot once in a while. while, it doesn't deal the damage of glass arrow (yes i know well duh), i really shut down eles, mesmers quite well when they were clumped up. i try to replace the lessen damage by dealing a little more degen.

While i know that there are much better ranger builds out there that can deal groups with barrage and massive buffs, i wanted to try out an old build that with the great minds of guild guru either make choking gas a lot more powerful, or be laughed out of existence.

If you have a few stacks of red rocks, you have over 1 million gold, why on earth waste them?

Sell them, and buy your title outright using cheaper sweets

Seems like a fun build to use sometimes.
But why the points in Channaling Magic?

Also you maybe want to change Practice Stance for Incendiary Arrows. You won't be able to keep up Choking as long as with Practice Stance, but you will be able to attack surrounding foes.
If I would run something like this I would proberly run:

Wilderness Survival 12+1+1, Expertice 9+1, Markmanship 9
Incendiary Arrows [E]
Triple Shot
Dual Shot
Distracting Shot
"I Am the Strongest!" (PvE)
Choking Gas
Serpent's Quickness
Res/Dwarven Stability

Just a note that candies don't work like Essence of Celerity. Rock candy will increase movement, attack speed and activation time on skills, not recharging speed. While a candy would make activation and spreading CG quicker, it will still need some help with its short duration, less you do like Ratman suggested and spread it around a larger area over shorter time.

With Practised Stance you do get to keep Choking Gas up all the time. It's very much like the old PS/CG build, except that he's not using flurry for IAS.

For IA build you could mix Ignite Arrows with Choking Gas and deliver them with Incendiary Arrows, under the effect of EBSoH it might be promising. Not sure EBSoH works on the aoe damage packets delivered by CG though. And CG can't miss...

This one time I brought a Panic hero with me and did the same exact thing you did.

Choking Gas doesn't actually deal AoE damage. It increases the damage on the target and then deals an AoE interrupt. It is a separate packet though, so every time you fire an arrow EBSoH effectively gives +30 damage per hit rather than +15.

Except they do exactly different things. Panic does not interrupt the foe, it is an AoE hex that triggers interrupts as a result of other enemies activating skills.
